United State Post Office, Marion
Located at 3800 Highway 151, this new 18,000-square-foot facility replaces the old Marion Post Office. The structure was built on a site needing 43,000 cubic yards of fill, thus requiring crews to construct more than 900 feet of retaining walls for support. The walls range from 3 feet to 28 feet high and are on three sides of the property. The building construction consists of structural steel framing, metal stud wall framing, brick veneer and a combination of EPDM and standing seam roof.
